Dr. O'Brien serves as coordinator of the organizational communications graduate program for Bowie State University's Department of Communications. Previously, she was an assistant professor and coordinator for the electronic media program in the School of Media and Public Affairs at The George Washington University (GWU). She taught at GWU for nine years.
When Kristin Evans was a Bowie State University graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in organizational communications, she knew that she wanted a career in teaching communications at the college level. “I always knew that I wanted to get my PhD,” she says. “I decided to get my master’s degree first, because I wasn’t sure what area of communications I wanted to focus on.”
My experience at BSU has been positive. I have had the opportunity to learn from great professors who are truly interested in seeing me excel.
