Description: Dr. Monifa Love, associate professor in the Bowie State Department of English, will present her award-winning novel, Freedom In The Dismal. She is also the author of two other books, My Magic Pours Secret Libations and Dreaming Underground.
In October 2008, Nikki E. Owens, a junior at Bowie State University, received a Milton Pericles Darden III Memorial Scholarship from the Scott Lee Foundation during its First Annual Nicole Lynette Scott Lee Memorial Scholarship Awards Reception.
Computer science professor Daryl Stone received his undergraduate degree from Bowie State in 1992. He successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at George Washington University on Election Day, November 4, 2008.
