Service Maintenance Window: Office 365 and OWA Access

DESCRIPTION
Intermittent issue – Some students who attempt to access Microsoft Office 365 are encountering authentication issues; Microsoft has identified the specific issue causing this problem, and they are now working to test a proposed solution.

The faculty and staff issue of remote access to email has been corrected and is now functioning once again.

** Note: DIT will continue to provide updated communications regarding the student Microsoft Office 365 issue until it is resolved.

Update (3/28/14 3:18 PM): Microsoft has tested their proposed solution to correct the accounts of those affected. It is advised that the users of the BSU Micrsoft Office 365 email system will be unavailable on Saturday, March 29th, 2014 between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.  Account testing will occur on Sunday, March 30th, 2014, but this is not expected to inhibit system usage.

Once this work has been completed, it is our expectation that current student email issues will have been corrected by Microsoft. We will provide additional information on Monday to ensure all challenges have been resolved and communicate additional information as needed.

Update (3/31/14 2:10 PM): As of this Sunday evening, March 30, 2014, Microsoft has completed the required corrections to student email accounts that were having challenges with logging in. Therefore, all students should now be able to log into their Office 365 email account and send and receive email appropriately.

If you have forgotten your password, never logged in, or are experiencing challenges with using your student email account, please contact the DIT Help Desk (301-860-4357) so they can assist you with accessing your email account.

This is a reminder that as part of ongoing operations maintenance, there will be a scheduled outage from 5 p.m. today,  Friday, February 7, 2014, to allow external engineers to continue scheduled maintenance and the upgrade of IT equipment.

PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Human Resources, Financials, Email, and other applications will be unavailable during this time.  

We will notify the campus community when systems are back up.

Please be sure to log off and power down your computer at the end of the day, as we are trying to mitigate challenges that you might have when your computer is restarted on Monday morning.

Service Maintenance: Apple OS Patch Release

Service Maintenance: Voice Mail Maintenance

Maintenance on the Voice Mail System

Update (1/28/14 2:33 PM):  The Office of Telecommunications has scheduled the voice mail vendor on campus today, Tuesday, January 28, 2014 to work on the voice mail system.   The system will go down at 6:00 p.m.  During this time you will not have access to voicemail for approximately two (2) hours.  This service call is expected to resolve some of the challenges we are currently experiencing.

** Note: During this maintenance you will not lose any messages which you currently have.

During this scheduled maintenance all telephone (landlines) will be down and you will not have access to your voicemail.

Service Maintenance: Email Application Loading Update

DESCRIPTION
The email application that has been functioning on updated equipment has exhibited some technical challenges and affecting a segment of users.

Update (12/02/13, 2:00 PM): A temporary solution has been implemented for users whose e-mail are not functioning properly and is available for viewing at DIT's News and Updates webpage.

Update (12/06/13 9:30 AM): First Storage group is the only one remaining and should be finished merging all its content this afternoon. We have recovered this data and are working to restore mailboxes fully. Most have been completed. Again, the first mail store is in process and should be completed by this afternoon.

Users will have limited internal access to network services that include no internet access as well as no access to network services from outside of BSU during this period.
