Register Your Camp or Youth Program

Bowie State University is committed to the safety of all individuals in its community. Procedures and guidelines have been established for those in the University community, including faculty, staff, appointees, students, student employees, graduate associates, and volunteers, who may work or interact with non-student individuals under 18 years of age, with the goal of promoting the safety and wellbeing of minors.

All Directors/Coaches of Camps or Youth Programs are required to register their program through the Conference & Event Services office in order to initiate the process required of all employees or volunteers working with minors.

The Maryland Department of Health requires certification for overnight & day camps prior to having the camp. Visit the Department of Health's website to see if certification is required.

These procedures and guidelines do not apply to general public events where parents/guardians retain care, custody and control of the minors and are expected to provide adequate supervision.  The University expects parents or guardians to provide supervision over minors on campus unless they are involved in an activity or program with minors.
