Literary Lions: Highlights from 150 Years of the BSU Library Archives

As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Bowie State's founding, we must recognize those African Americans who have made tremendous contributions to society. The Department of Archives and Special Collections will showcase historic artifacts of African-American luminaries, including an 18th-century dictionary, a first edition of Frederick Douglass' "My Bondage and My Freedom," and first edition publications from Harlem Renaissance writers Zora Neale Hurston, Claude McKay, Countee Cullen, and Langston Hughes.
