4th Annual Food Day Symposium

Learn about the latest developments and trends in health and nutrition at the 4th Annual Food Day Symposium, sponsored by the BSU Department of Natural Sciences, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Prince George's Food Equity Council and Thompson Hospitality. The discussion and activities will focus the theme, “So Full... and Yet Hungry,” and address critical issues relating to hunger and nutrition.

Program Highlights include:

  1. Guest speakers, presentations from students, faculty and research scientists and community groups; Panel and Break out discussions
  2. Student posters and food-related exhibits
  3. Healthy cooking demonstrations aired live on television
  4. Competitive activities focused on diet and exercise (e.g., “Biggest Loser” - style challenges)
  5. In-depth discussions among participants toward solutions to food-related disorders such as obesity, cancer and other topics, including healthy sustainable food production

Food Day is celebrated nationwide and is the foundation for a movement toward healthier, more affordable, and sustainable food for all.
