American Education Week: Conversation With a Civil Rights-Era Family

November 18, 2013 1:00pm - 3:00pm

“A Conversation with a Civil Rights-Era Family: Understanding Our Past to Prepare for the Future” is a event featuring Ernest Green, one of the "Little Rock Nine" who became the first Black graduate of the Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas. Green will be joined by his brother Scott Green and sister Treopia Green Washington to share publicly for the first time their reflections on the tumultuous year of 1957. During that year, the "Little Rock Nine" students became the first Black students to enroll in Little Rock Central High School. The siblings will reflect on the impact of that year and how their lives and careers have evolved.

A reception will be held immediately before the event.
