Guest Lecture: Gay Rights Pioneer Paul Kuntzler

Dr. Horacio Sierra's ENGL 254: Queer Cultural Studies class will host a guest lecture by gay rights pioneer Paul Kuntzler. Mr. Kuntzler was part of the first gay rights protest in front of the White House in 1965. He was a member of the DC branch of the Mattachine Society, the country's first gay rights organization, and a co-founder of the Gertrude Stein Democrats, the first LGBT Democratic organization on the East Coast. Mr. Kuntlzer will discuss his journey as a gay rights activist and reflect on the movement's advancements over the past 50 years. All are welcome.
