Molecules Inside Molecules

December 6, 2013 10:30am - 12:15pm

Molecules are the building blocks for life. Molecules can be temporarily and spontaneously surrounded by other molecules in arrangements called nanocapsules, which can have multiple uses in food enhancement, nutraceuticals, and the self-healing of materials.

Learn more from Dr. Julius Rebek, a chemist from the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, Calif. about the benefits and uses of nanocapsules, as well as what it's like inside them and the forces that hold the molecules together.

The lecture starts at 11 a.m. after a reception with light refreshments.
