Bowie State University Hosts 1st Annual Golf ClassicApril 27, 2012
(Bowie, Md.) - Playing for student scholarships and new athletic equipment, Bowie State University will host its First Annual Bulldog Golf Classic on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Country Club at Woodmore in Mitchellville, Md. Proceeds from this event will support the BSU athletic program including weight room renovations and scholarships.
"Our goal to excel in academics and athletics is our number one priority. The investment in our students today will pay dividends in their lives in the future," said Anton Goff, Athletic Director at Bowie State University.
The public is invited to participate in this charitable event. The day's activities consist of registration and a practice range at 8:30 a.m., a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m., and an awards ceremony and luncheon at 3:30 pm. Individuals and parties of four can register for the tournament. As well, companies and individuals can contribute through various levels of sponsorship opportunities.

Bowie State University is a member of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, which is an NCAA Division II conference of 12 historically African American institutions. The BSU Bulldogs compete in five men's sports which include basketball, football, cross country, and indoor/outdoor track and field.
