BSU Community cleans up local watershed

On the second day of President Breaux’s Inaugural Week, labeled as ‘Bowie State in the Community’, BSU President, faculty, staff and students put their boots, hats and gloves on with the city of Bowie to pick up litter at a wooded and stream/swale area near Bowie Town Center. The area is a watershed that eventually feeds into the Chesapeake Bay. The event was called the Environmental Stewardship Event with a goal of collecting trash and recyclable items and clearing them away from the area to help protect Bowie’s streams, the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay. Several bags of trash were collected as well several bags of recyclable items, and two tires.
