Information Analyst Certificate Program
The Information Analyst Certificate program is a graduate level program designed for working professionals seeking to enrich their portfolio of IT skills. The purpose of the certificate program is to prepare management professionals to serve as the liaisons between functional units and the information processing/computer operations unit in organizations. The certificate program emphasizes the assessment of information management needs and the design of systems to meet those needs. Requirements for the certificate are 15 credit hours. The requisite courses are listed below:
INSS 615 - Principles and Practices of Information Systems Development
INSS 630 - Information Systems in Organizations
INSS 640 - Information Systems Analysis and Design
INSS 650 - Database Management and Decision Systems
INSS 775 - Information Systems Project Management
* Applies for students enrolled on and after Fall 2010.
Students who do not have a solid background in computer or information systems will be required to complete INSS 510 as a prerequisite course.

An applicant must meet the admission requirements established by the graduate school. The prerequisite for the program is a grade point average of 2.5 or better and a bachelor's degree in business, management, computer information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field that includes the following courses:
- College Algebra
- Business Statistics
- Programming Languages
- Quantitative Methods
- Computer Applications
Students who do not meet all of the prerequisite conditions may be granted conditional admission and may be required to complete some prerequisite foundation courses before attempting any of the core courses in the curriculum. Students who have some work experience in the information systems field, but do not have the required academic background, may qualify for admission to the MIS Program. Students are encouraged to contact the MIS department to discuss qualifications for admission into the Program.
