Free Tax Return Preparation
Sponsored by the College of Business, Department of Accounting, Finance & Economics, and the student chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA)
The College of Business provides free tax return preparation services to the public through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) initiative.
This free service is available to people who earn $54,000 or less per year, have disabilities and/or speak limited English. Taxpayers can meet with a tax preparer and pick up the completed tax return in 3-5 business days. IRS-certified student volunteers prepare the returns with the help of experienced accounting faculty who are also certified public accountants (CPAs).
