The College of Education’s Signature Leadership Institute lead by the Department of Teaching, Learning and Professional Development in collaboration with the Department of Educational Leadership have created a design thinking interactive learning experience for educational leaders to integrate across disciplines which is embedded within EDAD 850 Educational Leadership Interdisciplinary Seminar Course. The Leadership Institute will commence October 23 – 26, 2019 with three full days of learning beginning 8:00am – 6:00pm.
EDAD 850 Educational Leadership Interdisciplinary Seminar Course will address leadership ideas, values, cultures, and contemporary issues that are affecting society generally and education particularly. The seminar will also serve to enhance students’ knowledge of multiculturalism, racial, ethnic, gender diversity, and individuals with handicaps. In addition, the course will address school-community relation’s issues, principles and recommended practices for dealing with those publics with whom school leaders regularly interact. Participants will have opportunities to obtain strategies and tools for immediate implementation with their teams to build capacity for positive systemic improvement. A Special Project will begin before, during and culminate after the Leadership Institute including but not limited to each participant being assigned a mentor. The Leadership Institute will consist of forty-five (45) hours. Participants can receive CEU’s or pay for continuation education credit. A total of three (3) credits will be offered. Participants must have at least a Master’s degree to participate.
