All freshman pre-nursing majors with less than 30 academic credits are advised through the BSU Academic Advisement Center!
Pre-Nursing majors with 30+ academic credits are advised through the BSU Department of Nursing. (Students must sign up at the Department of Nursing to schedule advisement appointments.)
All currently enrolled Pre-Nursing and NURS majors must meet with their assigned faculty/staff Academic Advisor before the close of the FALL 2021 semester!
Current BSU Nursing Students
Newly admitted students must make an appointment with an academic adviser (see academic adviser list). Other students must make an appointment with their assigned faculty adviser every semester. Each semester, the assignment of faculty advisers, by student, is posted in the Blackboard Undergraduate Community forum.
All Pre-Nursing majors (30 credits and above) must email the following Nursing Advisors to schedule their advisement appointment:
- Last Name A-L: Mr. Kenneth Dovale - email@example.com
- Last Name M-Z: Mr. Kenneth Dovale - firstname.lastname@example.org
Fall 2021 Freshman & Transfer Students
New freshman nursing majors receive academic advisement through the BSU Academic Advisement Center. Upon achieving a total of 30 academic credits, freshman nursing majors are advised by the Department of Nursing academic advisers.
New transfer pre-nursing majors for the fall or spring semesters must register to participate in the BSU New Student Orientation Program to enroll in semester courses. Students may visit the New Student Orientation page to register and/or receive assistance with orientation registration.
Transfer nursing majors are assigned a department faculty or academic adviser. Once an advisor has been assigned, new students should visit the department to access the student advisement log to identify their adviser and begin scheduling appointments for advisement services. Students may visit the Academic Advisement Office located in the Center for Natural Science, Mathematics & Nursing, Suite 2126 for additional information. Email inquiries may be sent to the Nursing Academic Adviser, Mr. Kenneth Dovale at email@example.com.
Due to a high volume of program inquiries, we cannot accept walk-in appointments. Inquiries must first be sent via email and the adviser will respond within 48 hours to address questions and concerns and schedule appointments.
The BSU Department of Nursing does not provide unofficial evaluation of academic credits. Transfer credit evaluations of general education courses are officially conducted through the BSU Office of Admissions. Prospective students must contact the BSU Office of Admissions and speak with an Admissions Counselor to address the articulation of all transfer courses.
