From the Office

Dear Students, Parents, Faculty and Staff:

As financial aid administrators, we learn and follow a series of complex federal and state regulations to ensure that our actions follow the law and model strong ethical standards. With guidance of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) and the University System of Maryland. Bowie State University financial aid staff has adopted a code of conduct, which is modeled after BSUs’ core values of excellence, civility, integrity, diversity and accountability. We pledge to provide optimal service, as we support the academic mission of the University. We also pledge to respect others regardless of circumstances as we uphold BSU values.

In ensuring integrity of all financial aid programs, our ethics within our office and profession are reviewed regularly. The Financial Aid staff is well versed on the ethical practices of the profession and strives to steer students to maximize federal and state aid eligibility, by encouraging all students to apply for aid.

The process of applying for aid can seem complicated and time consuming, and we want to make it a pleasant experience for you. We look forward to helping you meet your educational goals and wish you success.
