What time should I arrive?

For those transfer students taking a placement exam, please arrive no later than 8:00 a.m. If you are not taking a placement exam, please arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. To find out if you are required to take a placement exam, please contact the University Testing Services at 301-860-3295.

The location is the James E. Proctor Building (Formerly Center for Learning & Technology) Room 102. You may park in Lot D.

How long is Transfer New Student Orientation (NSO)?

Our one-day transfer sessions are from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

What will I be doing at the one-day session?

The Transfer NSO will consist of (1) placement testing (if needed); (2) academic advisement; and (3) a crash-course Discover BSU, which include a tour, lunch, an in-depth explanation of key resources on campus. Students will also receive a BSU swag bag and ID card.

Will I be able to speak with the Office of Financial Aid and Office of Student Accounts?

Yes. You will meet with representatives from these offices at orientation. You will also receive your BSU photo ID.

What is the fee for transfers?

You will be billed $100.00 along with your tuition. Even if you choose not to attend orientation, the fee will still be assessed.
