Bulldog Scholar's Academy is a five-week, residential, pre-college experience for first-time freshmen. Designed to ignite love for learning and build strong academic foundations, Bulldog Scholar's Academy provides students with the opportunity to earn six credits toward graduation. Here is a snapshot of the summer experience:

Math: Students enroll in a college-level math course appropriate for their major. They receive structured support inside and outside the classroom to increase their chance for success.

Freshman Seminar, Critical Inquiry and Reading: Students develop scholarly habits through personal exploration, reading, and inquiry. This course provides a creative space to explore ideas, think critically, construct knowledge, and develop team building and leadership skills. Upon completion, students should feel prepared for the rigors of college.

Co-curricular Activities: To provide context for learning, and offer students an opportunity to explore their roots, Bulldog Scholar's Academy travels to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Trail of Enslaved Africans, Virginia, and Harriet Tubman National Monument, Maryland.

Extra-curricular Activities:The summer will be packed with fun and inspiring activities, including team building, intramural sports, family barbecue, amusement park trip, outdoor adventures, fitness classes, and much more.
