 Jacqueline Beale (’84, ’98) attended yesterday’s State of the Union address as the invited guest for U.S. Representative Steny H. Hoyer (D-Maryland). The two-time breast cancer survivor serves as the Maryland State Lead Ambassador for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the nation’s largest cancer advocacy organization and non-partisan affiliate of the American Cancer Society. Beale was recognized for her advocacy work to make cancer a national priority when she was named the State Lead Ambassador of the Year in 2018 by the ACS CAN. Read More

 Four BSU students are gearing up to compete in this weekend’s national qualifier in Baltimore for the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge, a quiz bowl program for students at historically black colleges and universities. The students on the BSU team are sophomore history and government major Beatrice Amoateng (captain), junior computer science major Leo Genota, junior computer science major Isaiah Gregory and sophomore bioinformatics major Steeven Tabuada. The top 48 qualifying teams compete for bragging rights and grants for their institutions in the national tournament in California in April. Register and vote for BSU today.
