All students, staff and faculty must be fully vaccinated or have an approved medical or religious exemption to access campus and attend classes. Residential students and athletes must also be up-to-date with booster shots.

Getting Vaccinated

The BSU Wellness Center offers the Moderna vaccine weekly, Monday and Wednesday, 9 – 11:45 a.m. by appointment. Booster shots are also available.

Booster Eligibility

  • Phizer: Six months after last dose
  • Moderna: Five months after last dose
  • Johnson & Johnson: two months after last dose

Proof of Vaccination

Proof of vaccination received off campus must be uploaded to the Wellness Portal. If you have misplaced your vaccine record, you may request a duplicate at the Maryland Immunization Information System website. (need link)

Proof of vaccination status is a required component of the campus badging system that allows entry to the campus and various buildings.

Vaccination Exemptions

Medical exemptions may be granted if you have an allergy to the COVID-19 vaccine or a specific medical condition that precludes taking the vaccine.

Religious exemptions may be granted if taking the vaccine conflicts with your strongly held religious beliefs.

Applications for vaccine exemptions are available during designated periods before the start of the fall and spring semesters. Persons granted exemptions are required to take COVID-19 tests twice weekly to safeguard your health and health of the campus community.
