Co-op and Internship Students

By enrolling in the Experiential Leaning Program this semester, you have elected to position yourself to be marketable to employers!  Whether you have registered for the Cooperative Education course or the Internship (Interdisciplinary) course, you are well on your way to gaining the experience that employers want to see in the candidates who they hire.

Here are two important reminders for students registered in the Co-op and Internship courses this semester.

  • In order to receive academic credit for your co-op or internship experience, you must be officially registered for the Cooperative Education course or the Internship (Interdisciplinary) course.

Here are the possible courses you can register for:

Cooperative Education courses are listed as COOP 398, COOP 198 and COOP 298.  These course options are within each academic discipline.  However, it is the discretion of the academic departments to make the courses available for its students.

The Internship (Interdisciplinary) course is listed as IDIS 201 or IDIS 202.

Spring 2017 Program Dates

Cooperative Education Program

Program Orientation:  Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Student Center, Suite 3007

Mandatory for students enrolled in Cooperative Education courses.  Plan to attend only one session.

Session I – 12:00 pm-1:00 pm

Session II – 5:00 pm-6:00 pm

Professional Development Session: Student Center, Suite 3007

Mandatory for students enrolled in Co-op & Interdisciplinary Courses IDIS 201 or IDIS 202. Plan to attend both sessions.

Session I: Monday, March 6, 2017                   5:30 pm-7:00 pm, Student Center, Suite 3007

Session II: Wednesday, April 19, 2017             5:30 pm-7:00 pm, Student Center, Suite 3007

 

Internship Program

Program Orientation:  Monday, January 30, 2017, Student Center, Suite 3007

Mandatory for students enrolled in Interdisciplinary Course IDIS 201 or IDIS 202. Plan to attend only one session.

Session I – 12:00 pm-1:00 pm

Session II – 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Mid-Program Evaluation: Due by Monday, March 13, 2017  

Co-op Portfolios & Final Evaluations: Due by Monday, May 1, 2017

Intern Reports & Final Evaluations: Due by Monday, May 1, 2017
