Food Lion Feeds and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association® are proud to partner together to give faculty, staff, students and alumni a chance to vote their school queen as Miss CIAA 2017!

Voting begins at 9 a.m., February 6, 2017 and will end on February 24, 2017 at 5 p.m.

sheila-matthewsSheila Matthews is a senior Communications major with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism and a proud native of Riverdale, Maryland. She is very active at her university and in the community with involvement in the following: Radiance Freshman Leadership Institute, Eta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, New Student Orientation Leader, President of the Society of Sophisticated Ladies, Secretary of Do Better Community Service Organization, Miss Freshman, Miss Sophomore, Miss Junior, and now the 70th Miss Bowie State University.

As an advocate of young people discovering what their divine purpose on this earth is; Sheila’s platform, “Find your POWER”, encourages students at Bowie State University to discover their inner greatness and not be afraid of it. Upon graduation, she plans to attend graduate school to obtain a Masters in Political Science. Her ultimate goal is to become a news anchor on the Today Show and later appointed White House Press Secretary.She lives her life according to the quote, “Resilience may not get you everything you have ever wanted, but it will get you the one thing that means the most.”
