James E. Proctor Jr. Building
Bowie State University celebrates one of its most accomplished graduates by naming the Center for Learning and Technology in honor of the late Delegate James E. Proctor Jr.
Delegate James E. Proctor Jr. dedicated his life to providing quality education opportunities for Maryland students of all ages. After earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bowie State, he spent his career as a Prince George’s County educator and a representative in the Maryland House of Delegates. With his support, BSU has received approximately $200 million in state funding. The Proctor family has also expanded an endowed fund to generate much needed financial resources for our students. Support our students through the James E. Proctor Jr. Endowed Fund.
The James E. Proctor Jr. Building is home to the College of Education, where Delegate Proctor and his wife, the Honorable Elizabeth G. "Susie" Proctor, both received degrees. We are proud to extend his impact to future generations.
