Conduct Board

The Conduct Board is comprised of students, faculty, and professional staff members at Bowie State University who have the opportunity to serve on the Conduct Hearing Board. The Board hears cases of misconduct in which the accused student or student organization has contested the charges. The Board decides whether or not the student/organization is responsible for a violation of the policies stated in the University’s Student Conduct Code based on the information presented at the hearing. Should the board find the student/organization responsible for violating the code, the board will then recommend the appropriate sanctions to the Hearing Chair.

Time Commitment

The best answer for this question is that “it depends.” It depends on the number of student’s involved or case information presented during hearings. The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards will reach out to board members availability when scheduling hearings. All Hearing Board members are require to participated in a mandatory training workshop in order to be eligible to serve.
