Good News About BSU Student, a Tony Award Winner

 Dear Campus Community:

Bowie State University is celebrating the national recognition of one of our Bulldogs today. Please join me in congratulating Myles Frost, a student in our music technology program, for winning the Tony Award last night for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in Musical. He was chosen among many outstanding nominees, including Hugh Jackman and Billy Crystal, for his portrayal of Michael Jackson in MJ: The Musical now on Broadway.

Some of the members of our campus community had the opportunity to see Myles perform when we hosted the BSU Does Broadway bus trip back in March. I would like to encourage you all to see the play and to continue to cheer on our Bulldog on Broadway as he continues his journey.

As the Chair of our BSU Fine and Performing Arts Department has described Myles, “he is a multitalented artist…he is a talented musician, he is a composer, a dancer, and an actor.” Many thanks to Professor Tewodross M. Williams and the faculty in the Fine and Performing Arts Department for the many ways you teach, guide and inspire our students to achieve their careers, hopes and dreams.
