Bowie State Prepares for Homecoming 2022

Numerous Events Planned for Students, Faculty and Alumni

(BOWIE, Md.) – It’s going to be a week filled with numerous events as thousands of students, faculty, and alumni converge on campus to celebrate Bowie State’s 2022 Homecoming which will have much more meaning this year due to abbreviated programs over the past two years due to COVID.

On Monday, September 26, the annual Homecoming pep rally will be held at the Leonidas S. James Physical Education Complex from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. to encourage all students to participate throughout the week in the various activities. Bowie’s Got Talent will be held on Tuesday, September 27, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. to encourage Bulldogs to show-off their talents for their classmates followed by a Diversity Flag Party on Friday afternoon to punctuate inclusiveness and togetherness at the university.

Thursday’s highlight event for Homecoming week will be the alumni screening of the short film HAPPY, which was produced by alumnae Shalom Omo-Osagie. The film will be shown at the Fine and Performing Arts Center from 6:00 to 8:00p.m.

Bowie State’s Symphony of Soul Marching Band highlights the Homecoming Parade on Saturday morning, October 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by the capstone Homecoming week event featuring the Bulldogs against Livingstone College at 2:00 p.m. on the gridiron.

Sunday, October 2, is Homecoming campus clean-up which will give staff, students, faculty, and all organizations the opportunity to come together to help remove discarded containers and other items left behind during the celebration to keep the campus beautiful.
