Queer Cultural Studies Guest Lecture: Advocating & Legislating for Change

Dr. Horacio Sierra's ENGL 254: Queer Cultural Studies will host a virtual Guest Lecture event that focuses on how to advocate and legislate for changes that improve the lives of the LGBT community. Julio Fonseca, Senior Program Manager at AIDS United, will discuss his organization's effort to advocate for HIV/AIDS prevention and on behalf of people living with HIV/AIDS. State Senator Mary Washington (District 43- Baltimore), who identifies as a lesbian, will discuss how her presence in Annapolis helps the LGBT community when it comes to drafting laws and policies that improve the lives of all Marylanders.
