The World's Largest Swimming Lesson

8:00 PM - 1:00 PM

This summer, kids in the Bowie area are coming together at Bowie State University on June 17th for the 12th annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL). The WLSL program is an international water safety event taking place at pools, swim schools and waterparks on multiple continents all around the world, on one day, to focus attention on the vital importance of teaching kids to swim.

Sadly, drowning remains the second leading cause of unattended, injury-related death for children ages 1-4 in the U.S. and the third leading cause of unintentional injury death throughout the rest of the world. The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ was created to help spread the word that Swimming Lessons Save Lives, ™ to help everyone be safer during the summer swimming season.
