Student-Created Newspaper: Homie House Press + BSU Artist Residency Unveiling

During the Fall 2019 semester, under the support of Prof. Gina Lewis, direction and guidance of DFPA/VCDMA Prof. Jennifer White-Johnson and Visiting Artist: Adriana Monsalve of Homie House Press, ART 353, photojournalism students were tasked with creating Even The Score, vol. ii, the second edition of the Homie House Press newspaper. 

All content was edited, photographed, written, and curated by the students. The topic chosen by the photojournalism students amplifies personal narrative on the 2020 Vote, investigating topics covered in the newspaper include voter suppression, immigration, environmental justice, legality of cannabis, queer narratives and more. This event will include a student and professor-led panel and will be the first time students will present their research, photojournalistic process, and more to the Bowie State community. 

Even The Score, vol. ii, was published by Homie House Press and began distribution worldwide February 2020. Limited free copies will be available at the event.
