Safe Space training is an opportunity to learn about:
- LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,Transgender, and related communities) identities
- gender
- sexuality
- examine prejudice
- assumptions
- privilege
Safe space is a voluntary network of faculty, staff, students, and community members who believe that every member of the university and broader community should have an equal opportunity to grow and learn in a safe and open environment.
PART 1: 10:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. will focus on awareness and sensitivity issues focused on the LGBTQIA community coupled with applying concepts to the BSU community
**Working lunch is provided/small break- 12:15pm-12:35pm
PART 2: 12:40 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. will focus on what does it mean to be an ally to the LGBTQIA community at BSU
In order to receive a certificate of completion and a safe space sticker, you must attend both training sessions. RSVP here by Thursday, March 26.
