Cancelled: Social Work Global Learning Symposium

12:30 PM - 2:30 PM

The Social Work Global Learning Symposium will allow the Bowie State Community to learn about our BSW students, staff, and faculty experience with our faculty-led global learning trips to Durbin & Johannesburg South Africa, and Cuba. The Faculty Global Learning team to include Dr. Makeba T. Green, Vivian Shannon-Ramsey, and Dr. Tina Jordan, will highlight the vision, mission, and goals of our Global Learning Program. We will briefly discuss our experience in planning and seeking financial assistance for students to have this High impact experience.

Participants will gain insight on the student and staff experience, will be able to experience the cuisine and music from both countries, and will experience a pictorial walking tour of some of the most notable experiences of our global learning travelers. The students and staff will present their experience as it relates to the profession of social work, their work with students from other cultures, their personal growth, and their future as global citizens.
