Safe Space Awareness/Ally Workshop ONLINE

10:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Safe Space training is an opportunity to learn about:

  • LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual ,Transgender and related communities) identities
  • gender
  • sexuality
  • examine prejudice
  • assumptions
  • privilege

Safe space is a voluntary network of faculty, staff, students, and community members who believe that every member of the university and broader community should have an equal opportunity to grow and learn in a safe and open environment.

 

PART 1: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. will focus on awareness and sensitivity issues focused on the LGBTQIA community  coupled with applying concepts to the BSU community 

 

Lunch- 12 p.m. - 12:25pm (MUST sign up in advance for provided lunch & pick up details)

 

PART 2: 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. will focus on what does it mean to be an ally to the LGBTQIA community at BSU

 

In order to receive a certificate of completion and a safe space sticker, you must attend both training sessions.
