Law, Lunch & Learn Series: Becoming a Lawyer While Black

1:00 PM - 2:00 AM

During the social unrest in America, we acknowledge the importance of legal representation for the Black community. Although the Black community represents 13% of the population, only 5% are lawyers. Even more sobering are statistics of Blacks in the United States prison system at 33%. The Office of Multicultural Programs and Services in partnership with the Department of History and Government and Pre-Law Society is excited to provide a pipeline for future Black and Brown lawyers. Attorney Kathy Stewart is a proud native of Prince George’s County Maryland and she will shed light on applying to law school, law school overall experience, and life as a corporate attorney. Lunch is provided as a first come first serve basis next to the Bulldog at the Student Center from 12 pm-12:45 pm (Rain pick up- Baltimore Columbia Room).
