Spring Intersectionality Day: Diversity Awareness

8:00 AM

Join the Office of Multicultural Programs and Services and the LGBTQIA Resource Center for the Spring Intersectionality Day to celebrate diversity awareness month.

April is Celebrate Diversity Month, which recognizes and honors the diversity surrounding us all. By celebrating differences and similarities during this month, organizers hope that people will get a deeper understanding of each other. At Bowie State University, we embrace all social identities (abilities, ages, ethnicities/nationalities, gender identities/expressions, races, religions, sexual orientations, and social classes).

What can you do to support?
1) Wear all black on Thursday, April 1, 2021
2) Share pictures on Twitter @BowieMps
3) Share with the entire BSU community

A Bowie State University tradition that commenced on October 1, 2019, provides the BSU community the opportunity to show solidarity for the intersection of 3 diversity themed celebrations of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (October 1-October 31), Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15), and LGBT History Month (October 1- October 31). The entire BSU community wears all black for awareness and reflects on what it means for different identities at BSU and society.
