Safe Space Awareness Training

3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Safe Space training is an opportunity to learn about:

  • LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and related communities) identities
  • gender
  • sexuality
  • examine prejudice
  • assumptions
  • privilege

Safe space is a voluntary network of faculty, staff, students, and community members who believe that every member of the university and the broader community should have an equal opportunity to grow and learn in a safe and open environment.

Both parts 1 and 2 are hosted virtually.

PART 1 (Awareness Training) will focus on awareness and sensitivity issues focused on the LGBTQIA community  coupled with applying concepts to the BSU community.

In order to receive a certificate of completion and a safe space sticker, you must attend both training sessions.
