Join the Department of History and Government for a talk, followed by a question-and-answer session, with Dr. Karen Cook Bell, author of the just-released Running from Bondage: Enslaved Women and their Remarkable Fight for Freedom in Revolutionary America and of Claiming Freedom: Race, Kinship and Land in Nineteenth-Century Georgia, which won the Georgia Board of Regents Excellence in Research Award. Her writings have also appeared in The Washington Post, History News Network, and Ms. Magazine.
