Wellness Week: Child Welfare Workforce Conference

9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

The Child Welfare Workforce Student Conference is hosted by the Department of Social Work in the College of Professional Studies. The conference is designed to provide students with the knowledge, values, and skills, as prescribed by the Maryland Human Services Workforce, integrated practice model (IPM) framework. The conference workshops will provide the knowledge necessary for our students to engage with children, youth, families, and vulnerable adults in the DMV area.

Students will have the opportunity to develop skills necessary to build and strengthen their level of cultural competence; improve their professional skills related to child welfare, and build lasting connections in their respective fields. The facilitators conducting conference workshops are faculty members representing each discipline within the School of Professional Studies. Their professional expertise will help students become engaged and well-prepared professionals in the workforce.
