44th Mid-Atlantic States Mycology Conference

The Mid-Atlantic States Mycology Conference is a scientific meeting bringing together mycologists from the greater Mid-Atlantic Region. MASMC 2023 will be the 44^th MASMC. 

MASMC began in 1979 with participating mycology labs from Virginia Tech, University of Maryland, Howard University, and Towson State University. Each spring, MASMC provides an opportunity to present latest research findings in fungi-related research, meet new and old colleagues, and develop and strengthen scientific collaborations. MASMC provides undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs a unique opportunity to present their mycological research findings in a less formal venue than at a national or international scientific meeting.

This year MASMC will be co-hosted by Bowie State University and USDA-ARS Mycology and Nematology Genetic Diversity and Biology Laboratory. All events, except the foray, will be held at Bowie State University. The foray will be at Patuxent Wildlife Refuge.

This year we will have Dr. Rytas Vilgalys (Duke University) as our keynote speaker.
