The BOND Academy Day 2: The Keynote and Powerful Presentations

8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

The Center for Research and Mentoring of Black Male Students and Teachers [CRM-BMST], in partnership with the Building Our Network of Diversity [BOND] Project, presents Day 2 of the BOND Academy, an educational conference. The Academy’s theme for 2023 is "From Abstract to Action: Transforming the Culture of Schooling to Support Students, Educators, and Communities of Color."

On Saturday, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, the Academy features an opening welcome and networking session, breakfast, and keynote from Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr, featuring his book, Getting Into Good Trouble at School: A Guide to Building an Antiracist School System. The Academy features powerful 50-minute presentations that challenge the perspectives of our audience while at the same time entertaining them and deepening their knowledge. The presentations are connected to at least one of the following domains: 1) Instructional Strategies, 2) Social Emotional Learning/Trauma-Informed Practices, 3) Educator Development and Empowerment, 4) Antiracist Practices and Social Justice, 5) Workforce Diversity (Recruitment & Retention), and 6) Community Partnerships.

The Academy provides lunch and opportunities to network with our sponsors and professionals throughout the day.
