As Maryland's oldest HBCU, we are proud to host the inaugural Native American Pow Wow cultural event to support and honor Native Americans rich heritage. Never before in the great state of Maryland has a Native American Pow Wow been hosted at a HBCU and we need your help by attending this historic event. Bring your family and friends for these upcoming moments of joy and light.
What to expect: A day full of cultural experiences focused on Native American musical performances, special greeting from university leadership, opportunity to meet with authentic Native American vendors, and to learn the most alarming social justice issue facing the Native American community. Equally important, the Bowie State University will intentionally honor active and retired military weekend for the Veterans holiday weekend.
Who should attend?: This is a totally inclusive environment for all ages and community members
Food: FREE Authentic Native American food (first come, first serve)
Parking: Free parking lot behind McKeldin Gym
BSU Giveaways: Free BSU items, Ancestry DNA Kits, and more
Music/Engagement: More than 10 performers-presenters have confirmed participation (drum groups, different dancers, and social justice Native American activist)
