BIOGRAPHY AMBASSADOR IBRAHIMA TOURE


H.E Ibrahima Touré is the Ambassador of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to the United States of America. He was appointed to this position on October 6, 2021 and took office on December 14, 2021.
Ambassador Touré has a solid background in public administration and international relations. He actively participated in international meetings and training workshops. He is equipped with outstanding soft skills, including communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving, with an excellent academic background. He speaks and writes in French and English fluently.

 

In 1993 he graduated from the University of Abidjan with a bachelor’s degree in English. In 1996-1998 he studied diplomacy in the National School of Administration (ENA). After successfully graduating from that institution, he was enrolled in the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) training course in Tokyo, Japan. The workshop expanded his knowledge of financial and technical cooperation mechanisms in Japan. In the same year, he was first employed as a Research Officer in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Côte d’Ivoire in Abidjan. In 2000-2001 Ambassador Touré participated in two training courses in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Beijing, China. During the early 2000s, he participated in various international meetings and became a member of various institutions and organizations, including the Royal African Society, Chatham House, and Business Council for Africa (BCA). In 2000 he was promoted to the position of First Secretary in charge of Economic and Commercial Affairs in the Côte d’Ivoire Embassy in the UK. In 2006 Ambassador Touré was further promoted to the Counselor on Economic Affairs.
