Excellence in Black Dance

Excellence in Black Dance is an evening length dance concert, sponsored by and featuring The Collective, the resident student-based, preprofessional dance company of the Fine and Performing Arts Department at Bowie State University. Offering a wide range of dance genres, EiBD seeks to not only provide the Bowie community with exposure to Black Dance and Black Dancing Bodies, but to also allow BSU students the opportunity to serve as choreographers and mentors, working closely with young dancers from surrounding counties. The brainchild of Dr. Truly A. Davis, Assistant Professor of Dance, EiBD pays homage to Black Dancers past, present, and future.
