Women's History Month Safe Space Training

Please join the Office of Multicultural Programs and Services and the LGBTQIA Resource Center host an intentional safe space training during Women's History Month. The Women's History Month Safe Space Training will highlight how race, patriarchy, and mental health impacts Black Americans within the LGBT+ overall lived experience. Safe Space training is an opportunity to learn about:
- LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and related communities) identities
- gender
- sexuality
- examine prejudice
- assumptions
- privilege
- intersectionality theory
Safe space is a voluntary network of faculty, staff, students, and community members who believe that every member of the university and broader community should have an equal opportunity to grow and learn in a safe and open environment.
PART 1: 10:30am. - 12 p.m. will focus on awareness and sensitivity issues focused on the LGBTQIA community coupled with applying concepts to the BSU community
PART 2 working lunch: 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. will focus on what does it mean to be an ally to the LGBTQIA community at BSU
*In order to receive a certificate of completion and a safe space sticker, you must attend both training sessions.
