Du Bois Center Women's History Month Lecture

BSU Du Bois Center for the Study of the Black Experience presents Dr. Nneka Dennie, Professor of History at Washington and Lee University, as she discusses her new book about Mary Ann Shadd Cary-- an abolitionist, suffragist, and the first Black woman newspaper editor in North America. Particular attention will be devoted to Shadd Cary's perspectives on slavery, women's rights, and transnationalism. Dr. Dennie will also describe her archival research process.
