Innovate & Educate: Leveraging Embedded Tutors for Student Success

The Student Success Center is excited to host an interactive and transformative faculty development workshop focused on the Effective Use of Embedded Tutors. This dynamic session aims to explore the critical role of Embedded Tutors, highlighting the importance of collaboration between faculty and these vital support systems.

During this workshop, esteemed facilitators, including guest facilitator Dr. Saundra McGuire, Director Emerita of the Center for Academic Success and retired Assistant Vice Chancellor, Professor of Chemistry at LSU, and author of "Teach Students How to Learn: Strategies You Can Incorporate into Any Course to Improve Student Metacognition, Study Skills, and Motivation," will share insights into strategic connections to the university's goals, effective data analysis techniques, and innovative approaches to student success. Participants will engage in discussions, share experiences, and gain valuable knowledge to enhance their teaching practices.

As an incentive, selected participants will receive a $1000 stipend. The stipend will be distributed as follows: 25% after the full-day workshop in June following the conclusion of the Spring 2024 semester, and the remaining 75% after the half-day workshop and submission of assessments following the Fall 2024 semester.
