The Follett Access Program is a textbook savings program that makes your course materials more accessible and affordable. All your required textbooks are bundled into a single charge that is applied directly to your student account. This way, you receive everything you need in one place before classes begin.

How the Program Works

  1. Register for your classes
Each semester, professors choose whether their courses participate in the Follett Access Program. If your course is included, you’ll automatically receive all required materials before the first day of class.
  2. Get matched with your materials
The Follett Bookstore matches your courses with the required textbooks and course materials.
  3. Receive your materials
Materials are provided digitally through BSU systems.
  4. Check your student account for the Follett Access fee
A single charge, which varies by course, is added to your student account.

Options and Support

If you prefer to purchase your books on your own, you must opt out of the Follett Access Program by the established deadline. As a general guideline, the opt-out deadline usually aligns with the last date of add/drop.

  • For in-person support or questions about the opt-out process, visit the University Bookstore in the Student Center.
  • For questions about book payments, contact the Office of Student Accounts at sa@bowiestate.edu.
  • To dispute book charges, contact Donald Canfield at dcanfield@bowiestate.edu.

Frequently Asked Questions

    • Digital materials are provided through Blackboard or your BSU email.
    • Some courses may include optional supplementary physical materials. These must be requested by instructors and are not included in the Follett Access Program. If needed, you can purchase them at our register or through the bookstore website.
  •

The Follett Access Program is set up by course, and not all courses participate. For courses that do, the fee varies depending on the materials used and is generally lower than purchasing them elsewhere.

  •

    • Complete the form using your student credentials before the deadline (the opt-out deadline usually aligns with the last date to of add/drop).
