Advocacy for BSU

Each year during the 90-day legislative session, Government Affairs staff testify in support of or in opposition to legislation that may affect the University.

Budget Testimony

Bowie State’s President also meets individually with legislators in Annapolis to present formal written testimony in support of the University’s operating and capital budget and also appears before the legislative budget committees to answer questions.

Public Hearings

Members of the university community can participate in the legislative process by contacting their legislators or attending public hearings.  It is important to remember that university employees may not present testimony on behalf of the University without coordination with the Government Affairs staff.
