Sexual Harassment Training

In April 2018, the Maryland State Legislature passed House Bill 1423, requiring sexual harassment training of all State employees. As an employee of Bowie State University, you are a State employee, and must attend this training.

The purpose of the law is to provide employees with interactive, regular training on the laws, organization policies, appropriate response, and reporting on sexual harassment in the workplace. Training must be in person, and must be completed within the first 6 months of an employee’s hire, and every 2 years thereafter. The law became effective on October 1, 2018.

Beginning March 14, 2019, the Office of Equity Compliance will host mandatory training monthly, pursuant to the law. Please click on the below link on the University website to register for the training time that best suits your work schedule. Training is offered every 2nd Thursday (with the exception of April in which training will occur on the 4th Thursday) of the month. Currently, dates will be available through December 2019.

Managers in departments with employees that either do not have a BSU email address or do not have regular access to a computer will be responsible for coordinating and registering training time for their employees through the below link on the University website. For more information on how to complete registration for multiple attendees, please email EEO@bowiestate.edu.

NOTE: you do not need to register below if you have already completed a training since March 2019. If you have, you will not need to complete another training for 2 years.
