Jan. 28-30 Virtual Operations, Campus Remains Closed

Bowie State University will continue with virtual operations for all classes and office operations through Friday, January 30, 2026. The campus will be closed to all non-essential personnel, and all campus activities are canceled. All buildings except residence halls and the dining hall will be closed. Essential personnel should report on time. This is due to the extended time required to clear the extensive snow and ice accumulation on campus. University crews are making every effort to resume campus operations, as a safe return to in-person learning and work remains our top priority. Only essential personnel and residential students are permitted access to the campus through Jan. 30. For more information, please visit BowieState.edu/weather.

MISSION-Covering the African American women mainstream in the music industrial, filling that void in mainstream magazine media. To bring awareness of new and upcoming African American female Hip-Hop/Rap artists of this generation. Each magazine will have an entertaining mix of the features about the highlighted celebrity.

  • My name is Breanna Edwards and I am a designer & illustrator. I started drawing at a very young age and yes growing up Art was my favorite subject in school. With my talent I can create breathtaking illustrations. Art is something I’ve been passionate about my whole life, so it made sense to pursue a degree in something I love. My major is Visual Communication & Digital Media Arts with a concentration in Advertising design.

Growing up I loved reading and as I got older, I turned to magazines to enjoy and collected a few of them. I began to get into Editorial Design and decided that I should create a zine. Thus, DEBUT Zine was born.
