Thesis Statement

drew adamsThe story of a young adult, John who attends a party during the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic, around the beginning of March. As the pandemic started, he went to a college party when he was supposed to be quarantined in the house for his and others' safety. Stricken with grief and depression and believes it was his fault and spirals into grief and depression. He starts to isolate himself from society. This is where we see him at his most vulnerable state which is also the beginning of his journey to help himself understand the unexplainable.

  • My process for my final project is based on my observation of the mental health of the black community in 21rst century through the eyes of people in the current pandemic. In my film, I will use themes that will evoke emotions and mindsets that need to be talked about in the black community. I believe that it is my mission to tell stories that allows people to think about their mental health and the mental health of the community as a whole. I want themes of my project to allow those who see it to feel allowed to be emotional and allow themselves to understand those emotions. In regard to the current pandemic Many times, in the black community we don’t talk about how we feel because we had to be strong to get where we are today as a people but it is time to be emotional creatures and let the hurt out. I hope that those who watch my fill have an emotional reaction that creates a snowball effect that allows them to grow mental and emotionally. I want my film to help those who have gone through the same situations or feel like they didn’t know that situation was possible. Both sides are important because it can heal and teach those on both sides of the isle of opinion on the status of the pandemic. It was fun creating the film. I am excited to create the next installment of it sometime soon.
